Philip Binns Biography and Net Worth

Philip (Phil) Binns joined Agilent as Vice President and General Manager for the Spectroscopy Division following the acquisition of Varian, Inc. in 2010. In 2015, the Vacuum products team became part of the expanded division now known as the Spectroscopy and Vacuum Solutions Division.

Phil joined Varian’s Spectroscopy Group in 1994, after beginning his career in the mining and minerals industry. He has held management positions in product marketing and development, and sales and operations. In 2004, he was appointed General Manager of Varian’s field operations in the Pacific Rim.

Outside of Agilent, Phil has held a number of positions mentoring startups in the technology space and is a current board member of a medical bionics research institute and an early-stage company focused on treatment for epilepsy. Phil’s background is in Applied Science along with post-graduate qualifications in Marketing and an MBA from The University of Melbourne.

Phil and his wife live in Melbourne, Australia. Together, they have three adult children.

In his down time, Phil enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, participating in active sports such as skiing and hiking and following Australian Rules football.
