Fred Fairclough, Jr. is an American businessman, and he sat on the board of directors for People’s Utah Bancorp (now Altabank) and the Bank of American Fork from 2000 to 2020.
Altabank is the wholly-owned operating bank subsidiary of Altabancorp, which was formed in 1998 as People’s Utah Bancorp and taken public in 2015. Altabancorp is the only publicly-traded community bank headquartered in Utah. Based in American Fork, Utah, the original company was founded in 1905 as Lewiston State Bank.
Fairclough has served as board chairman for the Primary Children’s Hospital Foundation, director-emeritus of Health Sciences Advocates for the University of Utah’s medical center, and a director for the Ivory-Boyer Real Estate Center at the University of Utah’s business school.
He was previously a commissioner for Salt Lake City’s housing authority, and he also acted as a consultant to commercial mortgage banking firm, Bonneville Real Estate Capital. Fairclough co-founded the company in 1976 as Bonneville Mortgage Company, and he served as its president until 1998.
Fairclough attended the University of Utah and earned his B.S. in marketing.
