The principal activities of the Company and its subsidiaries include mining and supply of iron ore and other steel making raw materials to steel mills internationally and in Australia; manufacture and supply of mining consumables products; manufacture and distribution of steel long products, and recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal. The Company's Mining Consumables segment comprises Moly-Cop grinding media businesses, Waratah Steel Mill and AltaSteel. Its Mining segment exports hematite iron ore to external customers and supplies both pelletized magnetite iron ore and some hematite lump iron ore to the Company's integrated steelworks at Whyalla. Its Steel segment manufactures billet at its integrated steelworks in Whyalla and two electric arc furnaces. The Company's Recycling segment supplies steel making raw materials to domestic and international steel mills.
