Michael O’Sullivan is the general counsel for Snap, the parent company of Snapchat. He has been in the role since July 2017.

Prior to joining Snap, O’Sullivan was a partner in the firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP in Los Angeles. Munger Tolles is consistently recognized as one of the country’s most elite firms, known for its complex, high-profile corporate cases. John Spiegel, father of Snap’s founder and CEO, Evan Spiegel, is also a partner there.

During O’Sullivan’s time at Munger Tolles, he represented and advised major clients such as Google’s co-founders through the company’s IPO, Bare Escentuals’ CEO through the company’s $1.7 billion sale to Shiseido, KB Home through major acquisitions and financings, and Bank of America in litigation matters. He joined the firm in 1996.

He holds his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law, where he served as an editor for the Southern California Law Review.
