Mark leads the strategic oversight of CNA’s Enterprise Risk Management initiatives and global ceded reinsurance strategy.

Within these portfolios, Mark is responsible for establishing an enterprise-wide view of acceptable risk levels, while aggregating, modeling and evaluating exposures across all areas of the business. He leads the reinsurance function to protect the commercial and specialty portfolios on a global basis, through the purchase of reinsurance treaties, while managing claims and recoveries of CNA’s multi-billion dollar assets for reinsurance recovery balances and legacy runoff.

He joined CNA in 2018, after serving AIG as the Deputy Head of Global Ceded Reinsurance. He also spent a significant tenure at Chubb, as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Ceded Reinsurance and Risk Management from 2003 to 2016. He began his career as an underwriter and manager within the Inland and Ocean Marine portfolios.

Mark holds a BA in Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
