She achieved the rank of staff sergeant as an avionics technician in the U.S. Air Force Reserve where she proudly served for eight years. Tami received the Outstanding Achievement Medal for her work in 1990. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida and a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1992. Tami was also an Honor Graduate from the U.S. Air Force Technical Training School.
