Regis Repko Biography and Net Worth

Regis Repko serves as Duke Energy’s senior vice president of system planning and construction responsible for the long-term planning of generation, transmission and fuel supply. He also leads the company’s energy infrastructure project development and construction, ensuring reliable, efficient energy delivery and strategic growth.

His responsibilities include resource planning and execution, generation technology determinations, renewables project development, grid planning and integration, energy storage development, fuel procurement, system optimization, and major project management and construction. These efforts are critical in supporting operations of Duke Energy’s existing 55,000-megawatt fleet and realizing its ambitious energy modernization goals, while keeping reliability and customer value in the forefront.

Repko has over 40 years of experience in the energy industry. Before assuming his current position in April 2025, he served as the company’s senior vice president, generation transition and system optimization. Additionally, he has served as senior vice president, generation and transmission strategy, where he was responsible for the coordination and execution of resource plans across all jurisdictions of Duke Energy.

Repko has served as senior vice president and chief regulated & renewable energy officer for Duke Energy, overseeing the operation of the company’s diverse regulated generation portfolio across six states, including natural gas, coal and renewables. He also held the position of senior vice president of governance, projects and engineering for Duke Energy's nuclear organization, responsible for corporate functions, which include engineering, major projects, governance and operations support. As senior vice president of nuclear operations, he provided oversight for several Duke Energy-operated nuclear plants, including Harris, Brunswick, Oconee and Crystal River. He was the site vice president of McGuire Nuclear Station, managing station operations, maintenance and business processes.

He joined the company in 1985 as an engineer at Oconee Nuclear Station, progressing through various roles, including nuclear shift supervisor, operations shift manager and engineering supervisor. He also served as engineering manager for Catawba Nuclear Station and station manager for McGuire Nuclear Station.

The Jeannette, Pa., native earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He also maintained a senior reactor operator license from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for Oconee Nuclear Station from 1992 to 2000.
