Mr. Piconi’s 30+ years of industry experience includes prior executive leadership roles in US NYSE Fortune 100 public companies across various industries including Diversified Energy (Amoco/British Petroleum), Telecommunication Networks (Bell Labs Lucent Technologies, Alcatel), and Security/Network Management Software (Danaher Corporation). Within the private sector, he also founded and led as CEO several innovative healthcare service management and medical device companies which were later acquired by top tier private equity funds and/or large industry conglomerates.
In 2020, as part of his founding and scaling of Energy Vault, Mr. Piconi was one of 15 global leaders named by the World Economic Forum as “SDG Champion” for his ongoing work advancing sustainability, decarbonization and the circular economy. In addition to the Energy Vault NYSE board, Mr. Piconi also sits as a Non-Executive Independent Director on the board of Microporous, a leading advanced lead acid and EV battery technology and manufacturing company that is privately held.
Mr. Piconi received his graduate degree and MBA from Northwestern University (Kellogg School of Management) and undergraduate degrees BBA/BS in Finance and Italian Renaissance Literature from the University of Notre Dame.
