John Murphy Biography and Net Worth

John Murphy has served as a member of our board of directors since June 2021 and as our Lead Independent Director since July 2024. Mr. Murphy served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Adobe Inc., a multinational computer software company, from April 2018 until October 2021, and served as Adobe’s Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller from March 2017 until April 2018. Prior to joining Adobe, Mr. Murphy served as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of Qualcomm Incorporated from September 2014 to March 2017. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of DIRECTV Inc. from November 2007 to August 2014, and Vice President and General Auditor of DIRECTV from October 2004 to November 2007. Prior to joining DIRECTV he worked at several global companies, including Experian, Nestle, and Atlantic Richfield (ARCO), in a variety of finance and accounting roles. Mr. Murphy currently serves on the board of directors and as chair of the audit committee of Pure Storage, Inc. and on the board of directors of Roper Technologies, Inc. He served as Director of DirecTV Holdings LLC from November 2007 until August 2014. He holds an M.B.A. from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, and a B.S. in Accounting from Fordham University.
