He held several executive positions at AIG, including Chief Executive Officer of AIG Commercial Insurance, President and CEO of AIG Property and Casualty in the US, President of National Union Fire Insurance Company, and President of American Home Assurance Company.

John serves as the Chairman of the United States Treasury’s Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance. He is a Trustee of the Inner-City Scholarship Fund, a member of the Board of Overseers of the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science at St. John’s University, and a member of the Board of the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund. He is a graduate of the University at Buffalo.
