Sean joined MEC in January 2023 as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary.

Prior to joining MEC, Sean was the Head of Corporate Development for Caterpillar Inc. He spent over twenty-three years at Caterpillar, joining as a transactional lawyer in 1999. In addition to leading the Corporate Development function, Sean held several other roles with Caterpillar including Division Counsel within Legal Services and General Manager within an operating business unit. Prior to joining Caterpillar, Sean practiced law with Arnold & Porter in its Washington, DC office focusing on corporate, securities, M&A, and venture capital.

Sean has an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, a JD from the Washington and Lee University School of Law, and a BA from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
