METLEN Energy & Metals, the global industrial and energy company, has marked a significant milestone in its strategic evolution and international expansion with its Admission to the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.
Headquartered in Greece, METLEN operates across two core and interconnected sectors: Energy and Metals, combining industrial scale with technological innovation and sustainability leadership. With operations in more than 40 countries and with over 9,000 employees, across five continents, the company is strategically positioned at the forefront of the global energy transition, while also serving as a benchmark for green and circular metallurgy in Europe.
The listing on the London Stock Exchange reflects METLEN’s commitment to long-term growth, innovation and global investor engagement. By maintaining its secondary listing on the Athens Stock Exchange and securing a new primary listing in London, METLEN creates a dual-market investment platform — reinforcing its presence in its home market while unlocking enhanced access to international capital, liquidity, and strategic partnerships.
In 2024, METLEN recorded consolidated revenues of €5.68 billion and EBITDA of €1.08 billion, underlining the strength and scalability of its business model.
With a presence in the United Kingdom spanning over a decade, METLEN has established itself as a trusted partner in the country’s energy transition. Through its consistent involvement in large-scale renewable, power infrastructure and storage projects, the company has built long-standing relationships with both leading private sector players and national institutions.
A Global Leader in Energy, Metals & High-Tech Industrial Manufacturing
In the Energy Sector, METLEN is the largest private integrated utility in Greece and one of the few European companies active across the full energy value chain — from the development of thermal and renewable assets to electricity supply, natural gas trading, and advanced customer solutions, including hydrogen and smart energy systems.
In the Metals Sector, METLEN operates the EU’s only vertically integrated bauxite, alumina and primary aluminium production unit, with annual capacities exceeding 865,000 tons of alumina and 190,000 tons of aluminium. Its landmark €295,5 million investment in gallium production – recognised as an EU strategic project – makes a significant contribution to strengthening Europe’s independence in critical raw materials. The company also leads in circular metallurgy, recovering critical raw materials through proprietary, sustainable technologies.
In addition, METLEN is expanding its activities into defence and high-tech industrial manufacturing, reinforcing its industrial base and supporting European technological sovereignty through the development of cutting-edge defence systems.
