Dr. Orsula Voltis Knowlton brings 25 years of entrepreneurial pharmacist, business executive, and innovation experience to TRHC. During her tenure, she has supported the Company from start-up to market leader in the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) market. Her background includes experience in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as in community, long-term care, hospice and hospital pharmacy.
Prior to TRHC, from 1995 through 2007, Dr. Knowlton was a key member of the start-up management and leadership team of excelleRx, a hospice medication management and pharmacy distribution company. During her tenure as vice president and chief marketing, strategy, and business development officer, the company grew organically to service over 85,000 hospice patients in 49 States. The company was purchased by a Fortune 500 company in 2005.
Recognized for her accomplishments, Dr. Knowlton received the CEO Report 2018 ‘Women’s Leadership’ award, the 2016 ‘Citizen of the Year’ award from the Garden State Council Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America, and the 2016 ‘Community Partner of the Year’ award from the Development Center of Southern New Jersey. She was inducted into the College of Physicians of Philadelphia as a Fellow in 2018.
Dr. Knowlton also is active in her community, serving on the Board of Trustees for Samaritan Hospice and Healthcare in New Jersey and Florida’s Nassau County Board on Aging.
Dr. Knowlton is passionate about supporting women in leadership. She is a member of Women’s Business Leaders of the U.S. HealthCare Foundation, serving on its Strategy Advisory Board. She was recognized by the Forum of Executive Women and PwC in 2019 and 2020 as a “Champion of Board Diversity” for her influence in diversifying the TRHC Board of Directors to 56% women.
Dr. Knowlton received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of the Sciences College of Pharmacy in Philadelphia. She is a graduate of Temple University’s Fox School of Business Executive MBA program, also in Philadelphia.
