Scott Glabe Biography and Net Worth

Scott L. Glabe is the Senior Official Performing the Duties of Under Secretary for Strategy, Policy, and Plans (PLCY).  In this capacity, he serves as the principal policy advisor to the Secretary; is responsible for DHS-wide policy development, implementation, and strategic planning; and leads a team of dedicated professionals across five sub-offices: Border Security and Immigration; Counter Terrorism and Threat Prevention; Cyber, Infrastructure, Risk and Resilience; International Affairs; and Trade and Economic Security.

Scott concurrently serves as DHS’s first Assistant Secretary for Trade and Economic Security, a portfolio that includes the Department’s Foreign Investment Risk Management staff.  As a member of PLCY’s leadership team and as Senior Counselor to the Secretary, Scott has worked to advance Administration priorities and secure the Homeland.

Before joining DHS, Scott served as a Special Assistant to the President at the White House and in several policy and legal roles on Capitol Hill—including Staff Director of the U.S. House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

As an attorney in private practice, Scott specialized in national security matters, including foreign investment reviews and compliance with international trade controls.  Earlier in his career, he clerked for a federal judge and deployed to Afghanistan as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. 

Scott holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, an M.S. in Defense and Strategic Studies from Missouri State University, and an A.B. in Government from Dartmouth College.  A native of Missouri, he resides outside of Washington, DC, with his wife and six children.
