Joe Manning is Abbott's Executive Vice President, Nutritional Products, defining the strategic vision for our global nutrition business and leading Abbott's efforts to create science-based nutritional products for people of all ages.

Prior to assuming this role in December 2021, Joe served as Senior Vice President, International Nutrition, responsible for commercial operations in Southeast Asia, Europe/Middle East/Africa and Latin America.

Since joining Abbott in Canada as a sales representative in 1995, Joe has held a variety of roles within Abbott's Pharmaceutical and Nutrition organizations. Prior to his current appointment, Joe served within Abbott Nutrition as Commercial Director for Europe/Canada, as General Manager starting our commercial operations in Russia/CIS countries, as General Manager in Indonesia and as Vice President, Nutrition, Asia Pacific.

While in Russia, Joe served as an advisor to Deti Nashe, initiating programs whose goal is to enroll and educate caregivers in orphanages on how to decrease social disorders related to children’s prolonged institutionalization.

Joe received his bachelor's degree in accounting from St. Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Diagnostic Products segment offers laboratory systems in the areas of immunoassay, clinical chemistry, hematology, and transfusion; molecular diagnostics systems that automate the extraction, purification, and preparation of DNA and RNA from patient samples, as well as detect and measure infectious agents; point of care systems; cartridges for testing blood; rapid diagnostics lateral flow testing products; molecular point-of-care testing for HIV, SARS-CoV-2, influenza A and B, RSV, and strep A; cardiometabolic test systems; drug and alcohol test, and remote patient monitoring and consumer self-test systems; and informatics and automation solutions for use in laboratories. The Nutritional Products segment provides pediatric and adult nutritional products. The Medical Devices segment offers rhythm management, electrophysiology, heart failure, vascular, and structural heart devices for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases; and diabetes care products, as well as neuromodulation devices for the management of chronic pain and movement disorders.
