Daniel Durn is the CFO and senior vice president at Applied Materials, the global leader in materials engineering solutions for the semiconductor, flat panel display and solar photovoltaic industries.

Prior to Applied Materials, Durn served as CFO and executive vice president for semiconductor manufacturer, NXP Semiconductors. He previously served as CFO for Freescale Semiconductor before its merger with NXP. Before Freescale, he was the CFO and executive vice president of finance and administration at GlobalFoundries, a semiconductor foundry. He also served as head of technology M&A and strategy at Mubadala Development Company. Earlier in his career, he held the role of vice president in technology investment banking at Goldman, Sachs & Company and was a member of its merger leadership group. 

He started his career in associate roles with Booz Allen Hamilton and KPMG.

Durn holds a B.S. in control systems engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, and he served for six years in the Navy, reaching the lieutenant ranking. He holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
