Dr. Weng was appointed Vice President of BorgWarner Inc. and President and General Manager, Drivetrain Systems, in February 2021. In this role, Volker oversees BorgWarner’s global Drivetrain Systems business. Prior to this role Volker also held top positions in other BorgWarner businesses including President and General Manager, Transmission Systems and President and General Manager, Emissions and Thermal Systems.

Volker has held a number of positions since joining BorgWarner in 2004 including Vice President and General Manager Turbo Systems Asia and Europe for Emissions and Thermal Systems, General Manager Turbo Systems China and Director of Operations of the Kirchheimbolanden, Germany plant.

Prior to joining BorgWarner, Volker worked at FEV in advanced engine technology with increasing responsibilities within the engine simulation team.

Dr. Weng holds a diploma degree in mechanical engineering, a Doctorate in Combustion Engines from Karlsruhe University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Mainz University.
