Allan Bense is chairman, president and CEO of Bense Enterprises, Inc., a diversified holding company established in 1982 with interests in a wide range of industries including road construction, general contracting, mechanical contracting (plumbing and electrical), insurance, health care, golf courses, pavement working, farming and others.

Mr. Bense received his MBA from Florida State University in 1974. He served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1998 until 2006 and as Speaker of the House from 2004 until 2006.

In addition to his service on the Capital City Bank Group Board, Mr. Bense is immediate past chairman of the Florida State University Board of Trustees, the James Madison Institute, the Florida Commission on Taxation and Budget Reform and the Gulf Coast Medical Center Hospital, where he has served as a member of the board since 1979. He is also past chairman of the board of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Triumph Gulf Coast and numerous local charities.
