James D. Dee was named Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Carpenter Technology Corporation in August 2020. Jim joined Carpenter with nearly 30 years of industrial and manufacturing experience after serving most recently as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary and Chief Administrative Officer at C&D Technologies. Prior to his tenure at C&D Technologies, Jim was employed by the law firm of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhodes, LLP, where he was a member of the firm’s corporate law department, specializing in securities matters, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property. He also served 16 years at SPS Technologies, Inc., where he last served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. While at SPS, Jim was responsible for all legal and regulatory affairs of the company.
Jim is a graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law of the College of William and Mary and the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to being a licensed patent attorney, he is also a member of the Bars of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida and is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
