Mark Wallace is Executive Vice President, responsible for strategy implementation and special projects. He led a transformation of the company’s commercial organization as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing from July 2018 through June 2021, after joining CSX as Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Chief of Staff in spring 2017. He also previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.

Before joining CSX, Wallace served as the Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Chief of Staff at Canadian Pacific, a role he was appointed to in July 2012. While at Canadian Pacific, he was responsible for the law department, corporate communications and public affairs, investor relations, facilities and real estate functions as well as overseeing the efficient operations within the president and Chief Executive Officer’s office.

Prior to his time at Canadian Pacific, Wallace spent more than 15 years in various senior management positions with Canadian National (CN). At CN, he led the public affairs function in both Canada and the U.S., and prior to that, he was the Chief of Staff in the office of the president and Chief Executive Officer.

Wallace serves on the Board of Directors of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, one of the country’s top pediatric hospitals.

The company operates approximately 20,000 route mile rail network, which serves various population centers in 26 states east of the Mississippi River, the District of Columbia, and the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec, as well as owns and leases approximately 3,500 locomotives. It serves production and distribution facilities through track connections. CSX Corporation was incorporated in 1978 and is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida.
