Edward “Ed” Bastian is the CEO of Delta Air Lines, a role he has held since May 2016.

Bastian is a 20-year veteran of the company, having joined in 1998 as vice president of finance and controller. He was then promoted to senior vice president, a role he held from 2000 to 2005. After a brief departure to serve as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Acuity Brands, Bastian returned to Delta as its CFO, and was later appointed to serve as its president in 2007.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Bonaventure University. Prior to Delta, he held positions at Frito-Lay, Pepsi-Cola, and Price Waterhouse where he began his career as an auditor.
