James Graass joined Eagle Materials Inc. (formerly Centex Construction Products) in November 2000 as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. In July 2001, he took on additional responsibilities as Secretary of the company.

Previously, Mr. Graass spent nine years with the Centex Corportation organization. Joining Centex in 1991 as Associate General Counsel for Centex Corporation, he provided legal support for Centex Corporation, Centex Construction Products (now Eagle Materials) and CTX Mortgage Company. In 1994, Mr. Graass became General Counsel for CTX Mortgage Company and was appointed EVP in 1999. Prior to his career with Centex, Mr. Graass was an associate in the corporate and securities section at Hughes & Luce in Dallas, Tex.

Mr. Graass holds a B.A. in economics from Tufts University, an M.B.A. in finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a J.D. from Vanderbilt University.

It also manufactures and sells recycled paperboard to gypsum wallboard industry and other paperboard converters, as well as containerboard and lightweight packaging grades. In addition, the company engages in the sale of ready-mix concrete; and mining, extracting, production, and sale of aggregates, including crushed stones, sand, and gravel. Its products are used in commercial and residential construction; public construction projects; and projects to build, expand, and repair roads and highways. The company was formerly known as Centex Construction Products, Inc. and changed its name to Eagle Materials, Inc. in January 2004. Eagle Materials Inc. was founded in 1963 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
