The Quiroga Group is a holding company that administers and manages companies in diverse areas such as mining, energy, agribusiness and aquaculture. It is currently known as the controller of Australis Seafoods.
In2003, Isidoro Quiroga acquired a percentage of Australis, a salmon farming company then dedicated exclusively to freshwater salmon farming. In 2007, he acquired 100% of the company and formed Australis Seafoods, which was also dedicated to fattening salmon for export worldwide. That same year the company went public, entering the Santiago de Chile stock market and positioning itself as a leader.
He led the company through times of crisis. In 2017, the Infectious Salmon Anemia virus (ISAv) crisis left many salmon companies on the verge of bankruptcy. Isidoro Quiroga handled the crisis with firmness and success: in 2018, Australis Seafoods led the Chilean market rises, with a profitability of +26.43% to $79,650 and completing a +56.15% year-to-date, demonstrating his expertise for high-level business and his quick response. In 2020 it sold the company to Joyvio Group Co, a subsidiary of Chinese conglomerate Legend Holdings Corporation, for nearly $1 billion.
