Leslie S. Hyde was Senior Vice President, Chief Sustainability Officer for Koppers from 2020-2024. In this role she was responsible for driving global sustainability initiatives while advancing the company’s strategic vision for the future. She also led the enterprise risk management and product stewardship functions.

Leslie joined Koppers in 1999 and most recently served as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Risk Management for Koppers in 2019. Leslie championed a broad spectrum of sustainability concepts, encompassing environmental, social and governance topics as well as published the Company’s first Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) compliant Sustainability Report in 2013. Additionally, she introduced several community initiatives at Koppers, including Community Advisory Panels at manufacturing locations and the Koppers Cares employee volunteer program.
Prior to joining Koppers, Leslie was a facility manager for a regional chemical manufacturing company, a consulting engineer, and served 10 years on active duty with the United States Army.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy, an MBA from Golden Gate University, and a Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University.
Leslie currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Pittsburgh CLO. She resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her husband and two daughters.
