Peter Gray is the President, Lands' End Licensing. In this role, he is charged with developing, advancing and executing Lands’ End’s licensing strategy aimed at expanding brand reach by leveraging its intellectual property in an asset-light model to minimize capital cost and drive profitability. Immediately before assuming his current role, Gray served as the company’s Chief Commercial Officer.
Gray also serves as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel. As the company's chief legal advisor, he directs and oversees all corporate legal matters, including regulatory, ethics and compliance, and corporate governance, and counsels senior management and the Board of Directors. Gray has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions transactions and securities offerings and leads Lands’ End’s evaluation and execution of M&A and other strategic business development opportunities. His broad business experience includes multiple roles where he has held executive responsibility over operations, legal services, human resources, procurement, real estate development and investor relations functions.
Before joining Lands' End, he served as the executive vice president and general counsel at Tumi Holdings, Inc. where he was a member of Tumi's executive committee, which oversaw the company’s strategic direction and advised the board and senior management on a variety of legal and business issues. Previously, he was executive vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel at CMGI, Inc./ModusLink Global Solutions, Inc. Gray began his legal career at Hale and Dorr LLP, now Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, where he was a junior partner and represented public and private companies on various corporate matters, including capital raising, securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions.
Gray received his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School and received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from Tufts University. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tufts University Hillel Foundation.
