Dev Ittycheria is an American software executive, entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and the president and CEO of MongoDB, a popular next-generation database.
MongoDB serves customers worldwide by providing an open-source database platform for automating, monitoring, and deployment backups. The company also renders enterprise software integration, platform certification, and commercial licensing services.
Ittycheria led the company’s 2017 IPO, the first of a database company in more than 26 years. During his tenure, MongoDB has launched innovative products like cloud database, Atlas, garnered numerous customers, outperformed comparable competitors financially, and expanded operations worldwide.
Prior to MongoDB, Ittycheria was a partner at Greylock Partners, the managing director at OpenView Venture Partners, and the co-founder and CEO of BladeLogic which was later acquired for $900 million.
Ittycheria currently serves on the board of directors for public software company, Datadog, and blank-check company, Altimeter Growth Corporation. He previously served on the boards of AppDynamics, athenahealth, and BazaarVoice, among others. Ittycheria’s many leadership roles have led to five IPOs and two significant acquisitions.
He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Rutgers University, where he was awarded the Medal of Excellence and recognized as the Alumnus of the Year in 2010 by the School of Engineering.
