Craig Nunez was named president and chief operating officer in August 2017 after serving as chief financial officer since joining NRP in January 2015. His operations and finance experience spans five continents and every sector of the oil industry.
His previous roles included senior vice president and treasurer of Halliburton, one of the world’s largest oil service companies; treasurer of Colonial Pipeline, owner of the world’s largest petroleum products pipeline; and director of International New Ventures and manager of the Eurasia Division at Phillips 66. Additionally, Mr. Nunez served as president of Greenwich Energy, a company he founded, built and sold. He started his career as an institutional bond salesman with Greenwich Capital Markets.
Mr. Nunez received his bachelor and juris doctor degrees from Louisiana State University and a Master of Business Administration degree with honors from Duke University, where he was a Fuqua Scholar. He is a licensed attorney and a Board Leadership Fellow at the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Mr. Nunez serves as chairman of Goodwill Industries of Houston and as a director of Goodwill Industries International, Medical Bridges and the National Mining Association. He previously served as chairman of Avondale House, formerly known as the Texas Treatment Center for Autism. He has also served on the Executive Committee of the Board of the Sam Houston and Atlanta Area Councils of the Boy Scouts of America. An Eagle Scout and recipient of the God & Country Award as a youth, Mr. Nunez was also honored with the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor bestowed on an adult volunteer by a Scouting Council.
A former lieutenant colonel in the Texas State Guard, Mr. Nunez concluded his service as Commander of the 447th Air Support Group at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base. His military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal.
