Jerry James Hunter is the senior vice president of engineering at Snap, a role he has held since November 2017.
Hunter has been with Snap, the parent company to social media application, Snapchat, since October 2016, when he took the role of vice president of core engineering.
Prior to Snap, Hunter was at Amazon from 2007 to 2016, where he worked first as vice president of corporate applications, and then vice president of infrastructure As VP of infrastructure, he was responsible for the company’s data centers around the world.
He was previously the vice president of information technology for Sun Microsystems (later acquired by Oracle).
Hunter attended the University of Arizona and earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in systems engineering.
