Jill Sando is the executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for Target and a member of its leadership team. Jill is responsible for all buying across the company’s hardlines and softlines product categories, bringing an eye for trend and curation, while anticipating guests’ needs across Target’s multi-category assortment.
Jill joined Target in 1997 as an associate buyer and has held roles throughout merchandising, planning, and product design & development. During her leadership for Target’s home business, Jill led the instrumental category reinvention, which included a particular focus on the owned brand portfolio. Jill previously served as senior vice president and general merchandising manager for apparel and home.
Prior to joining Target, Jill started her retail career with Younkers department store in Des Moines, Iowa.
In addition to her responsibilities at Target, Jill sits on the board of directors for Perspectives, a local non-profit dedicated to supporting at-risk families and children. The organization addresses homelessness, racial disparity, poverty, trauma, mental and chemical health issues, and nutrition.
Jill received her bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
