Ron Rittenmeyer serves as executive chairman of Tenet Healthcare Corporation. He most recently served as CEO in addition to his executive chairman title, a position he held for nearly four years.

As CEO of Tenet, Rittenmeyer led the company through an era of tremendous growth and transformation, improving performance and financial health, quality and efficiency controls, leadership and governance, portfolio makeup and shareholder value. He also spearheaded and cemented a cultural reset, including the introduction of a new mission, vision and set of values that prioritize service, compassion, transparency, inclusivity and accountability. He joined the Tenet board in 2010 as a director and served as lead director before becoming executive chairman.

Rittenmeyer is the retired chairman, president and CEO of Electronic Data Systems (EDS), which was a leading global provider of information technology services, business process outsourcing and applications services with annual revenues of $29 billion.

Rittenmeyer's experience includes senior leadership responsibilities across multiple industries. Before joining EDS in July 2005, he served as managing director of The Cypress Group, a private equity firm where he was responsible for all operating aspects of the company's $3.5 billion investment portfolio.

He served as chairman and CEO of Millennium Health, a leading health solutions company that delivers timely, accurate and clinically actionable information to determine treatment decisions for patients. Rittenmeyer led Millennium's successful emergence from Chapter 11 to an ongoing business.

He is the former chairman, president and CEO of Expert Global Solutions, a global BPO and credit recovery company, employing 40,000 people worldwide. He led the restructuring and subsequent sale of the credit recovery business, while rebuilding the CRM business to double-digit revenue and EBITDA growth. Previously, he served as chairman, CEO and president of Safety-Kleen, Inc., the $1.5 billion hazardous and industrial waste management company, which he led through Chapter 11 and into a successful reorganization.

Among his other leadership roles, Rittenmeyer was CEO and president of AmeriServe; chairman, CEO and president of RailTex, Inc.; president and COO of Ryder TRS, Inc., the truck rental company; president and COO of Merisel; and COO of Burlington Northern Railroad. Rittenmeyer was also with PepsiCo's Frito Lay and PepsiCo's Foods International division for 20 years in senior management roles.

Rittenmeyer currently serves on the board of directors of IQVIA Holdings Inc. He is on the executive board of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, the foundation board for the Church of Incarnation in Dallas and is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

In addition, Rittenmeyer formerly served on the National Defense University Board of Visitors; as chairman of the U.S. Army War College Board of Visitors; and as a member of the Business Council. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Federation of American Hospitals (FAH) and formerly served as FAH Board chairman. Additionally, he served on the boards of R.H. Donnelley Corporation (presently DexYP), Avaya Holdings and American International Group, Inc. (AIG).

Rittenmeyer has earned several recognitions for his contributions and leadership. In 2021, the entire Tenet Healthcare Board under Rittenmeyer's leadership was named to the newest class of honorees for The Dallas Business Journal's Outstanding Director Awards. In 2019 and 2020, Rittenmeyer was named to Modern Healthcare's list of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. He has also received The Best CEO for Small Cap Healthcare award by Institutional Investor, the Outstanding Healthcare Executive award from D CEO Magazine, and was recognized as one of the Most Admired CEOs in North Texas by The Dallas Business Journal. In addition, he was named to The National Association of Corporate Directors' Directorship 100 list, which recognizes the most influential people in and around the boardroom.

Rittenmeyer received his Bachelor of Science degree in commerce and economics from Wilkes University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Rockhurst University. In 2013, he was awarded an honorary doctor of humane letters from Wilkes University. He was also previously presented with a Department of the Army Outstanding Civilian Service Medal and received an honorary master of letters in strategic studies from the US Army War College in Carlisle, PA, where he served as chairman of the Board of Visitors for six years.
