Jerome Guillen is the president of automotive at electric car manufacturer, Tesla, a role he has held since 2018.
Guillen previously served as vice president of trucks & other programs, where he led the Tesla Truck program, highlighting the all-electric Class 8 truck. Prior to that, he served as vice president of worldwide sales & service, where he built and led the Tesla service organization worldwide, handling recruiting and training of staff, expanding service locations in North America, Europe, and Asia, and ensuring customer satisfaction and top performance. During his tenure, Tesla Service was recognized as the best in the industry by Consumer Reports.
Guillen joined the company in 2010 as program director for the Model S, where he reported directly to Elon Musk to ensure that all development and timelines for bringing the vehicle to market were enforced.
Prior to Tesla, Guillen was the director of business innovation for automobile manufacturer, Daimler AG. He also served as general manager of new product development for Freightliner, a manufacturer of trucks and other heavy duty vehicles. He also worked as an engagement manager at McKinsey & Co.
Guillen earned his degree in energy technologies from Madrid’s Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales and his degree in mechanical engineering from Paris’ Ecole Nationale Superieure de Techniques Avancees. He also holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan.
