Earlier in her career, Shannon was Head of Human Resources for Smith Barney Wealth Management, where she co-led the HR integration of the joint venture between Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley, creating the largest retail brokerage company of that time.

Shannon holds an M.S. in organizational development from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California, and a B.A. in political science from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She is a founding member of the Board of Advisors for Rutgers University Business School’s Executive Education program, helping shape the strategy for Rutgers to compete in the talent needs for the future. Shannon has also been elected to the Board of Trustees of Partners. Partners, formally Partners for Women and Justice, is a non-profit public interest law firm committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
