While completing his M.B.A., Stempeck placed first out of 1,200 entrants around the world in the 2007 Innovation Challenge, where he presented new marketing strategies to Hilton, Shell, and American Express. 

Stempeck earned his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his M.B.A. from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.
