Mr. Tambakeras led our Board as independent Chair from 2011, when Xylem was spun off from ITT Corporation, its former parent, until May 2020. He currently serves as Chair of the Board’s Nominating & Governance Committee. He served as President & Chief Executive Officer of Kennametal, Inc. from 1999 until his retirement in 2005 and as Chairman of Kennametal’s board from 2002 to 2006. 

Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Tambakeras enjoyed a long career with Honeywell Incorporated. In his last two roles at Honeywell, he served as President, Industrial Controls Business from 1995 to 1999, and President, Asia Pacific from 1992 to 1994. 

Mr. Tambakeras has served as Chair of the Board of Make-A-Wish Foundation International since 2016. He previously served on the Board of Trustees of Loyola Marymount University and the Board of Trustees of Arizona State University. He has also served on the President’s Council on Manufacturing and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI, the manufacturing industry’s leading executive development and business research organization from 2003 to 2004.

The Integrated Solutions and Services segment provides maintenance services, mobile services, digital outsourced solutions, wastewater systems, environmental remediation, odor and corrosion control, filtration, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, and deionization under Aquapro, WaterOne, and Ion Pure brands.
