Bob De Lange is a group president of Caterpillar Inc. He has leadership responsibility for Digital, Technology & Distribution, which includes these divisions: Americas Distribution Services, Asia Pacific Distribution, Europe Africa Middle East Eurasia Distribution, Cat Digital, Cat Technology and Product Support & Logistics.

Since joining Caterpillar in 1993, De Lange has held numerous positions, including tracked excavator marketing representative in Gosselies, Belgium, and wheeled excavator marketing representative in Munich, Germany, from 1993-1995 and 1995-1996, respectively. From 1996-1998, he was a field sales representative in London before moving back to Gosselies as a marketing supervisor from 1998-2001. In 2001, he was named sales manager for EAME marketing in Copenhagen and, in 2004, moved to Peoria, Illinois, for a marketing manager position. In 2006, he became the district manager for EAME marketing in Rome before he became a regional product manager for the Earthmoving Division in 2010. In 2013, he was named worldwide product manager for the Earthmoving Division. In 2015, the Caterpillar board of directors named him vice president responsible for the Excavation Division in Singapore, with worldwide, end-to-end responsibility for tracked and wheeled hydraulic excavators. The board of directors appointed him the group president of Construction Industries in 2017. In June 2018, De Lange transitioned to his current role.

A native of Antwerp, Belgium, De Lange graduated from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium in 1992 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He then received his master’s degree in business administration from EDHEC University in France in 1993. De Lange also completed Caterpillar’s Executive Leadership Development Program in partnership with Stanford University. In addition, he is a member of the board of directors at AGCO, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, and the Caterpillar Foundation board of directors.

De Lange and his wife have two children. Outside of work, he enjoys quality time with his family and avidly participates in triathlon competitions.

Additionally, it offers combines for harvesting grain crops, such as corn, wheat, soybeans, and rice; and application equipment, such as self-propelled, three- and four-wheeled vehicles, and related equipment for liquid and dry fertilizers and crop protection chemicals, and for after crops emerge from the ground, as well as produces diesel engines, gears, and generating sets. The company markets its products under the Fendt, GSI, Massey Ferguson, Precision Planting, and Valtra brands through a network of independent dealers and distributors.
