Ajei was appointed an independent director of the board in 2011. From 2013 to 2016, Ajei was an operating partner at Silver Lake, a leading private equity technology investor. His employment at Silver Lake included a secondment as interim president and chief operating officer at Symantec Corporation. From 2011 until 2013, he was senior vice president at Hewlett Packard.
