He supervises Bank of Hawaii’s internal financial reporting, planning and forecasting, financial accounting and reporting, regulatory financial reporting, corporate taxation, and the overall budget and forecast for the company.

Mr. Shigemura joined the bank in 1999 as Vice President and Investments Officer, and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2002. He was named Executive Vice President and Treasurer the following year, and then Controller in 2014. In 2017, Mr. Shigemura was appointed to Chief Financial Officer and then Vice Chair.
