Mr. Wahrhaftig holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), an MBA from the Manchester Business School (UK) and has studieda graduate degree in Corporate Finance from ISAE/ FGV.

He has 27 years of professional experience, 19 of which at Gerdau. In recent years, he has served as Commercial Officer at Gerdau Aços Especiais; Corporate Commercial Officer; Commercial Officer at Comercial da Gerdau Aços Brasil; and Vice -President of the operations in Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Instituto Aço Brasil, where he also served as Charmain for the 2021–22 period. He currently holds the position of Vice-President of Strategy at Gerdau.

Further, it operates mines that produce iron ore located in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
