He became a member of the Executive Committee in October 2017. Mr. Burns has more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience in the financial services sector, having begun his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ financial services group in Australia. He first joined the Butterfield Group of companies in the Fund Services subsidiary in Bermuda, before transferring to the Internal Audit team in 2007, where he has held progressively senior management roles.

Mr. Burns is a Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) and a Certified Internal Auditor. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
