A senior executive with extensive experience in business development and mergers and acquisitions. Amy is motivated by the opportunity to tackle complex business challenges and deliver strategic solutions.
The growth of The J.M. Smucker Company can be attributed to many strategic decisions but chief among them is the Company’s evaluation of burgeoning growth markets and its willingness to adjust its portfolio to meet the needs of consumers. In her time with the Company, Amy Held, Chief Strategy and International Officer, has overseen some of the most dramatic evolutions at Smucker, including its move into the pet food and pet snacks space.
As it has grown, Smucker has demonstrated a dedication to reflecting the evolving preferences of consumers. This has resulted in a greater appreciation for brands that deliver exceptional consumer experiences as it evaluates growth opportunities.
In her current role, Amy is redefining the Company’s vision for long-term growth and how Smucker can best deliver on its purpose. This includes constant evaluation of external opportunities and strategic partnerships as well as leading the growth of the Company’s Canadian and International businesses.
Prior to joining Smucker, Amy provided senior leadership at Willis Towers Watson (formerly Towers Watson), Grant Thornton, and PwC. These roles afforded Amy the opportunity to experience different industries, markets and environments, offering a strong foundation for her current leadership philosophy.
In addition to her responsibilities at Smucker, Amy is on the Board of Trustees for Playhouse Square and is a Council Member on the Cleveland Innovation Project.
Amy earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
