Prior to 2019, Cummins served as co-chief operating officer and wholesale segment executive at a Truist predecessor, where he was responsible for corporate and investment banking, commercial and business banking, treasury and payment solutions, and commercial real estate, as well as the enterprise efficiency office and procurement. From 2013 to 2017, Cummins served as commercial and business banking executive, and from 2008 to 2013, he was chairman, president, and chief executive officer of a Truist Securities predecessor, the corporate and investment banking division of Truist.

Before joining the company in 2005 as head of debt capital markets, Cummins held several leadership positions at Bank of America after launching his investment banking career at Citibank.

Cummins currently serves on the board of directors of Atrium Health Foundation and the Owen board of visitors at Vanderbilt University. He served as chairman of the World Affairs Council of Atlanta and was a two-term member of the Business Advisory Council at Miami University’s Farmer School of Business.

Cummins earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
