Throughout his career, he has built a reputation as a results-oriented leader focused on client service, growth, innovation, operational excellence and, ultimately, shareholder return.
Before joining Truist, Lyons was the CEO of Fiserv Inc., a global leader in payments and financial services technology. Prior to Fiserv, he was president of The PNC Financial Services Group, where he led all the company’s lines of business and helped drive strategy, financial performance, and national expansion. Earlier in his career, Lyons held senior leadership roles at Bank of America, including global head of corporate development, strategic planning, investor relations and private equity. Before that, he served as a principal at investment advisor Maverick Capital and as a director in Morgan Stanley’s financial institutions investment banking group.
Lyons previously served as chair of Early Warning Services (owner of Zelle and Paze), and he has served as a national trustee of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a board member of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and chair of the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
A native of Scarborough, Maine, Lyons earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
