James “Jim” Anderson is the president and CEO of Lattice Semiconductor Corporation, a developer of programmable logic devices. 

Anderson joined the company in 2018. Lattice Semiconductor manufactures three types of semiconductor devices: programmable logic devices, millimeter wave devices, and video connectivity application specific devices. 

The computing executive previously was the general manager and senior vice president for the computing and graphics business group at Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD). 

Anderson has had two separate stints with Intel, first in microprocessor strategic planning between 2002 to 2005, and second from 2014 to 2015 as the general manager of Axxia Business. 

He has also served as general manager and senior vice president of networking solutions for both Avago Technologies (now Broadcom) and LSI Corp. in separate positions.

Anderson began his career as a consultant for the wireless business solutions group of Qualcomm before becoming a professor of software engineering at the University of San Diego in 2001.

Since 2020, he has served on the boards of Sierra Wireless, the Semiconductor Industry Association, and the University of Minnesota’s Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Science and Engineering, as well as the MIT Sloan School of Management’s Americas Executive Board. Previously, he served on the board of Qylur Intelligent Systems. 

Anderson currently has four patents for his work in computer architecture. 

Anderson holds an M.B.A. in marketing and strategy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management, an M.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue University and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
