Tony Fassino is a group president of Caterpillar Inc. He is responsible for Caterpillar’s Construction Industries segment, which includes the Earthmoving, Excavation, Building Construction Products, China Operations, Global Construction & Infrastructure, Construction Industries Services divisions, as well as the Construction Industries Supply Management group.
Fassino joined Caterpillar in 1996. Throughout his career, Fassino developed deep experience in engineering, sales, product development, and operations across Caterpillar’s global portfolio, including roles across North America and Asia. As a 6 Sigma black belt, he led diverse projects ranging from equipment rental to go-to-market expansion to underground product development to distribution development. During his time covering Canada, the U.S. Pacific Northwest, and Alaska, Fassino was a field rep supporting dealers and customers working in a variety of industries, including residential, quarry and aggregates, heavy construction, forestry, and mining. As a new product introduction manager in Japan, Fassino led the worldwide product development for large excavators. As a district manager and then region manager, he supported dealers and customers on the west coast and Eastern regions of the U.S. Prior to his appointment as group president in 2021, Fassino was the Building Construction Products vice president with responsibility for Caterpillar’s robust line of small, versatile construction machines and work tools.
Fassino has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Bradley University. He completed Caterpillar’s Executive Leadership Development Program in partnership with Duke University.
Fassino serves on the board of directors for the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) as vice chair at large and the United Way of the Greater Triangle. Past board roles include the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the Association of Equipment Distributors (AED), and the FFA Foundation.
