Dr. Jaymin Amin was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer in June 2022. In this role, Amin oversees Corning’s Research, Development, and Engineering functions. He is responsible for advancing the company’s innovation portfolio – creating important growth opportunities that stem from a complementary set of three core technologies, four proprietary manufacturing and engineering platforms, and five Market-Access Platforms (MAPs).

Amin joined Corning in 1997 as a Senior Research Scientist. Over his 25 years with the company, he has helped create and lead several groundbreaking technologies and products from design to commercialization. He has worked alongside some of the company’s most influential customers, delivering highly innovative solutions to enable their product sets.

In November 2020, Amin was appointed Vice President and General Manager, Corning® Gorilla® Glass, Mobile Consumer Electronics (MCE), where he was responsible for all aspects of the business, including technology, strategy, operations, and finance. He previously led product and process development, product engineering, and commercial technology for MCE, and prior to that for Gorilla Glass. He held numerous operational roles within Photonics before joining Corning Specialty Materials in 2004.

Amin is an author or coauthor of more than 45 technical publications and holds more than 50 U.S. patents, with several more filed or pending.

He graduated from Glasgow University in the U.K. with a master’s degree in optoelectronics and laser physics, and earned a doctorate in optoelectronics from Southampton University.
