Mr. Tyree has served as a member of our Board of Directors since May 2012, as Chairman of our Board from 2014 to 2021, and as our Lead Independent Director since July 2021.

He has a distinguished career in health care operations and M&A spanning more than 30 years. He currently serves as an independent board member for several public and private healthcare companies, including Assertio (NASDAQ: ASRT) since October 2016. He was the former lead independent Director of Chemocentryx (NASDAQ: CCXI), which was sold.

Mr. Tyree previously served as a member of the board of directors of SonarMed, Inc. (now a subsidiary of Medtronic plc). He is the retired Chairman and Co-Founder of Tyree & D’Angelo Partners, a private equity investment firm founded in 2012. He previously held numerous executive positions at Abbott Laboratories Inc., including Executive Vice President Global Pharmaceuticals, Senior Vice President Global Nutrition, and Corporate Vice President Pharmaceutical and Nutritional Products Group Business Development. Prior to joining Abbott, he held leadership positions at Sugen Inc., Bristol-Myers Squibb Inc., and Pfizer Inc. Mr. Tyree is a past chair of the Illinois Biotechnology Industry Organization (iBIO) and council of advisors to develop a new strategic plan for the Illinois Medical District, and has served as a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and the Chicago Mayor’s Council of Technology Advisors.

Mr. Tyree earned his MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, as well as bachelor’s degrees in psychology and forensic studies from Indiana University.
