Before Quip, he was the chief technology officer for Facebook, where he led the company to its 2012 IPO and oversaw the growth of its mobile platform and integration with Apple’s operating system.
During his time at Facebook, Taylor is perhaps best-known for creating the application’s “Like” button. He joined the social media giant in 2009 after it had acquired his company, FriendFeed, for around $50 million. Taylor founded FriendFeed while serving as entrepreneur-in-residence at venture capital firm, Benchmark Capital.
Taylor launched his career at Google where he is credited with co-creating Google Maps and Google Maps API .
Taylor sits on Twitter's board of directors, and he has previously served on the boards of Axon Enterprise and Taser International. He holds both a B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Stanford University, and he resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
